ISAS BC is inspired by ISO 9001:2000, and totally dedicated to the broadcasting industry — radio, TV channels, and Internet content producers.
ISAS BC 9001:2003 enables broadcasting companies to measure how far they meet the following criteria:
- Listeners/viewers’ satisfaction
- Editorial independence
- Quality and accuracy of information
- Quality and diversity of other types of programming
- Innovation and creativity
- Independence and transparency of management
- Promotion of and respect for ethical rules
- Representation of national minorities
- Social relevance
The certification system is composed of:
- The reference standard ISAS BC 9001:2003, duly registered in the independent standardisation body ISAS (International Standardization & Accreditation Services, www.isasgroup.com). The standard details the objectives to be reached in order to obtain the Certificate of Conformity by the applicant.
- A "Quality Manual" which complies with the requirements of international norms.
- Audit procedures combining written documents and two software programs called Certimedia (self-assessment) and Optimisas (management of the quality system).
