Pt.0 Ch.3 Plan Approval Documentation Types – Definitions
Main changes coming into force 1 July 2010:
- Sec.2 Documentation Types
- New item I260 – Control and monitoring systems - periodical test procedure
- New documentation types have been added as follows:
- M085 – Hazardous materials documentation - appendix 2 substances
- M100 – Material declaration
- M110 – Declaration of conformity relating to use of hazardous materials
- M120 – Hazardous materials location plan.
In addition documentation types M081, M083 and M084 have been amended.
Main changes coming into force 1 January 2011:
- Sec.2 Documentation Types
- B200: Document type definition of Freeboard Plan is updated.
- H190: Container stowage and securing manual is amended.
Pt. 2 Ch.3 Fabrication and Testing of Structures
Main Changes coming into force 1 January 2011:
- Sec.5 Welding Procedures
- Updating on qualification of welding procedures in order to be in accordance with IACS UR W28.
- Sec.8 Structural and Tightness Testing
- References to SOLAS in Table B1 are replaced with text from IACS “Draft Guidelines for Procedures of Testing Tanks and Tight Boundaries”.
Pt.4 Ch.9 Control and Monitoring Systems
Main changes coming into force 1 January 2011:
- Sec.1 General Requirements
- Table C2, C3, C4: Clarification of certain documentation requirements, especially related to E0 and also functional failure analysis.
- D504: Specification of sea-trial test requirements for remote control of propulsion machinery, as part of main class.
- Sec.2 Design Principles
- A205: Requirement for instrument accuracy added.
- B202: Requirement for system response to failure in redundant systems added.
- Sec.3 System Design
- A103: Clarification of the requirement for independency between control systems and safety systems.
- A205: Requirement for independent indication in closed loops added (the requirement was unintentionally removed some years ago).
- Sec.5 Component Design and Installation
- C301: Relaxation of requirement for IP degree (ingress protection) for equipment in control room / wheelhouse / accommodation
Pt.7 Ch.1 Survey Requirements
Main changes coming into force 1 July 2010:
- Sec.4 Renewal Surveys Extent – Main Class
- Item B115 (renumbered B114) and Table D1 has been amended.
Main changes coming into force 1 January 2011:
- Sec.2 Annual Surveys Extent – Main Class
- Items B108 and C112 have been deleted. Requirements are given in Rules for Classification of Ships Pt.7 Ch.1 Sec.7 A.
- Sec.4 Renewal Surveys Extent – Main Class
- A new item A404 concerning postponement of Renewal survey up to 12 months, has been added.
- Items B114 and C114 have been deleted. Requirements are given in Rules for Classification of Ships Pt.7 Ch.1 Sec.7 A.
- Sec.6 Optional Class Notation Surveys
- Sub-section B “Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection” has been moved to Rules for Classification of Ships Pt.7 Ch.1 Sec.7 G.
