Buenos Aires: DNV commemorates its 25th anniversary in Argentina. During these 25 years DNV has issued more than 1000 certificates and is today the market leader in the country.
A great percentage of Argentinean industries, companies and institutions use today DNV as their supplier of certification services. In 1990, DNV Argentina was the first certification body in the country to issue an ISO 9001 certificate.
The DNV organization in Argentina has its head office in Buenos Aires, a branch office in Cordoba, in the centre of the country, and another office in the Littoral in the city of Rosario. The organization has grown steadily since 1980, when the first maritime services started, and now has 70 highly skilled and experienced employees for both maritime and certification services.
More than a ticket to trade
The development of Argentina’s industries and companies, the increase in the country’s exports and the stiffer competition in the international markets have been important for DNV - as a global provider - increasing its market share in the interesting Argentinean market.
“We’re proud of what our customers and we have achieved together in Argentina,” says DNV’s chief operating officer Henrik Madsen, who take part in the celebrations in Buenos Aires today. “DNV introduced Risk Based Certification last autumn as the first certification body in the world to do so. I look forward to continued further improvements in the next 25 years for Argentinean industries, companies and institutions through them using this new approach to certification services.”
It is important for DNV to emphasis that the certification services offered are not only a ticket to trade – they also add more value for the client. Through certification, the client achieves the international approvals and recognitions necessary for national and international business.
Strong presence in Argentinean markets
In addition to the services provided, the certified companies must train their personnel in order to achieve a commitment to improving their quality systems. DNV has also developed software that helps to satisfy the needs of its clients.
DNV offers two services in the field of certification:
- Certification of Management Systems according to Quality, Environment, Health and Occupational Security, Food Security, Information Security, CE Mark, and other standards.
- Training activities, offered as Public and In House Training.
DNV operates in a large number of industries in both the Argentinean and international markets and has a strong presence in some of these. These include the maritime industry, where DNV offers classification services for ships and offshore units, the automotive industry, the oil and gas industry and the metallurgical industry. Over the past few years, DNV Argentina has also developed services for the food and beverage sector.
