DNV Maritime Solutions have joined forces with ShipServ to launch the 2005 ship supply management benchmarking study.

DNV Maritime Solutions has launched the 2005 ship supply management benchmarking study in co-operation with ShipServ. The study addresses ship supply management business processes, including purchasing, delivery, product Information management, sourcing, contract management, and reporting and logistic management.
”Ship supply management is about providing the fleet with correct spare parts, consumables and services with the right quality, in the right place at the right time in a cost efficient way. Ultimately it is also about keeping the fleet going and reducing the cost of operation,” says Helge Hermundsgård, director and head of management solutions, DNV.
The purpose of the study is to offer shipping companies insight into how well they are performing compared to industry colleagues, what is industry leading practice, what characterises top performers and how they manage to be good. The study also offers input and recommendations on how study participants can improve their ship supply management performance.
