Oslo, Norway: DNV has acquired the Primalux Suite of Asset Management Systems, developed by Primalux Technology Co. Ltd. The acquisition of the Primalux systems is intended to strengthen DNV’s Asset Operation Services and extend DNV Software’s Asset Integrity Management Systems. With the acquisition of the Primalux program suite, DNV has strengthen its position-offering both world class risk and asset management services and purpose-made software solutions.

The customer will benefit in both the short and long term from DNV’s worldwide knowledge base and proven software portfolio. The software portfolio has been significantly strengthened by the acquisition, and DNV Software is now able to offer a broad solution covering most risk and asset aspects for the process industry.
Primalux is a software house specialising in computerised engineering asset solutions for the oil & gas and process industries. The company, which has 17 software developers located in Greater China, will be a part of DNV Software, working to further enhance and support the product.
Primalux Technology was founded in 2000 and has profound development and implementation experience of asset integrity systems used in the industry. Its vision is to provide engineering industries with integrated, innovative and cost-effective computer solutions. During its first two years of operation, Primalux invested in an enterprise asset management system (EAMS) targeting the process industry. The comprehensive Primalux EAMS consists of four major modules: Asset and Document Management, Inspection Data Management, Maintenance Management and Executive Information Systems.
Over the past five years, Primalux has been a close partner of DNV Technology Services in South East Asia and Greater China. Primalux has already worked in depth on several projects with DNV Technology Services, in both RBI-related work and the implementation of asset management systems and maintenance systems.
“After working closely with DNV in Asia for the past five years, we fully appreciate the company’s professionalism and realise where its reputation comes from. As a member of the DNV family, we believe that our staff will benefit from the experiences of working with world-class pros and our software solutions will be further enriched by the support of global knowledge and local involvement” says Alice Feng, Managing Director of Primalux.
Says Elling Rishoff, Managing Director of DNV Software, “The acquisition of Primalux fits nicely with DNV’s strategy and plans for growth in China. Primalux EAMS is dual language, supporting English and Chinese or any other local language. It is the first dual language asset operation software available in China. This strengthens our opportunities to introduce other DNV Software products in this market.”
