HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Sept. 10, 2004 – The Process, Power & Marine division of Intergraph Corporation

The goal of the agreement is to further expand the value of IntelliShip in early design and asset lifecycle management to shipyards and ship owners. IntelliShip is a highly-advanced marine engineering, modeling and lifecycle information management environment.
Under terms of the agreement, Intergraph will expand sales efforts to market IntelliShip to shipyards for detailed design and will license a subset of IntelliShip to DNV Software, while DNV Software will manage sales of IntelliShip for detailed design in the Nordic and Baltic regions, Germany and Poland.
Importantly, DNV Software will build early design software on the IntelliShip technology and will exclusively sell the resulting products under the brand name Nauticus Early Design. The Nauticus Early Design software will perform early design functions of optimizing cost, safety and manufacturability of ships and offshore installations. DNV Software will also migrate its ship lifecycle engineering information management tools to the same technology base. The result will comprise a set of the companies’ products covering the entire ship lifecycle which will minimize data translation and enable seamless data handoff between lifecycle stages. All resulting software products will be specifically open to inclusion of class rules from any marine classification society.
The Intergraph IntelliShip (http://ppm.intergraph.com/marine) knowledge-based, integrated 3D modeling and 2D engineering software streamlines shipbuilding, appreciably lowering manpower and material costs and significantly reducing overall design and construction outlays and schedules. IntelliShip heralds the obsolescence of existing CAD-constrained, heavily customized ship design and engineering software.
Since 2002, Intergraph and DNV Software have worked together under a licensing, co-marketing and reseller agreement for integrating and marketing their respective technologies. These include Intergraph IntelliShip, related SmartPlant® software and lifecycle engineering information management tools and the DNV Software Nauticus Early Design and engineering information management lifecycle products.
