The DNV Navigator makes things easier for the Port of Singapore.

The Singapore Ministry of Transport awarded a Minister Innovation Award to the latest DNV project with the Singapore MPA (Maritime Port Authority). The project was established to reduce paper work onboard ships and promote safety.

The project made it possible for crew onboard ships with a Singapore flag to electronically submit crew change information via XML files to MPA using DNV Navigator. This saves valuable time onboard which is currently spent on paper reporting, manual verification of written reports and possible correction/re-submissions.

DNV Navigator will allow for minimum data entry by crew by capitalising on the system database onboard and automatically performing verification of entered data before submission to MPA.

The project was proposed by DNV in February 2006 and completed in June 2006. Project partners included MPA, TORM Singapore, DNV Maritime Partner and DNV Singapore.

The solution has been distributed globally to all DNV Navigator customers, in all 60 companies with 950 ships. DNV Navigator also supports the submission of eNOA/D to the US Coast Guard (USCG) via XML.
