Sound and exhaust emission limits, as well as some changes in design and construction requirements, are part of the new provisions of European Directives related to recreational crafts.

The Recreational Craft Sectorial Group (RSG) discussed the application of the new provisions of the European Directive (2003/44/EC) related to Recreational Craft (RCD) at an extraordinary meeting in Düsseldorf in January.

Since 1996 the RSG group has issued guidelines for general application by Notified Bodies including recommendations for use. These are considered to be essential to help industry and Notified Bodies to apply the directive in a coherent manner.
