“DNV has high ambitions with this training course, and we expect it to become an attractive industrial course worldwide,” says Dines Haslund, head of DNV Technology Services’ pipeline department.

The “Pipeline technology basic course” has been developed by DNV Technology Services in cooperation with DNV Learning. It consists of a web-based primer, a classroom course and a new pipeline technology course, and is intended to be ready for the market by the end of January. Designed for 15-20 participants on each course, Statoil has already ordered several courses.

According to Dines Haslund, who is head of DNV Technology Services’ pipeline department, Statoil has been impressed by DNV Learning’s teaching approach in combination with the in-depth technology skills of DNV Technology Services.

Earlier versions of this course have been run internally in DNV for the past 7-8 years, and this is one of the main reasons for DNV being awarded this contract.
