Human rights
SA 8000 is a comprehensive, global, verifiable standard for auditing and certifying compliance with corporate responsibility. The heart of the standard is the belief that all workplaces should be managed in such a manner that basic human rights are supported and that management is prepared to accept accountability for this.
For GSK Consumer Healthcare, the prime objective of the certification has not only been to implement ethical practices but also to influence suppliers and contractors.
Commitment
“The Rajahmundry plant has shown exceptional commitment by combining social initiatives which have a synergy effect with its business, thereby setting examples on sustainable development within the local community, as well,” says Balasubramoniam.
