eApproval+service+for+customers+established

DNV is the first class society to offer an eApproval service. The approval service, through the DNV Exchange webportal, enables clients to submit and receive approval documentation electronically.

The service is now available for all our NB (Newbuilding) and CMC (Certification of Materials and Components) clients worldwide after it has been tested on pilot projects for nearly two years. The eApproval service is free of charge.

The main benefits with eApproval for the client are:

  1. Faster exchange of information means shorter design time
  2. Reduce paper costs and mailing time to practically zero
  3. Easy access and overview of documentation
    - The client has continuous access to status of submitted drawings
    - The client may download the approved documentation from anywhere
    in the world immediately after the approval is finished.

eApproval projects
17 eApproval projects are active today, covering 33 ships and three CMC projects.

The eApproval service
In eApproval, the client uploads drawings, calculations and accompanying letters on the DNV Exchange server. When the approval process is concluded, DNV redline and stamp the technical documentation electronically in NPS and upload the approved documentation back to the clients user account on DNV Exchange.

Before the client gets a username and password to access the eApproval service on DNV Exchange, an eApproval contract has to be signed. For more information, please see the brochure in PDF-format available under "related info" in the right column.
