Best-Buy.com, a Norwegian-based Internet consumer goods company, has just signed up for a 4 module EBtrust assessment with DNV Certification.

Says EBtrust Project Manager Claus F. Høyer; "The fact that Best-Buy survived the .com shake-out and now is a leading actor in the Norwegian market signals that the company is based on sound business ideas and provides products and services the market wants."
Best-Buy.com was one of the first, if not the first, company in Europe that had as its main goal to sell consumer electronics over the Internet.
Says Høyer, "With these merits it is quite reassuring for us that Best-Buy.com has chosen to go for EBtrust. It tells us that EBtrust provides a valuable service to companies involved in B2C commerce. This is a market with extremely hard competition and where the top priority of every executive is cost-benefit evaluations of any investment."
DNV's EBtrust faces competition from much cheaper trust-marks based on self assessment schemes, particularly in the B2C market segment.
Says Høyer, "The fact that Best-Buy.com has chosen to take 'the hard and narrow path' by choosing EBtrust over a self-assessment type trust mark, shows that there is a demand for third party trust services in B2C as well in B2B (business to business) e-commerce."
