Ship Building, Operations & Technology - Safety in Shipping:
The industry wide operational safety review undertaken in 2012 yielded a number of recommendations which were subsequently approved as amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea by the IMO. These measures, already voluntarily adopted by the cruise lines, show the industry's commitment to passenger safety and the work of developing impeccable safety practices will continue. The panel will assess the implications of the SOLAS amendments and look at the proactive steps the industry is taking and will take to increase passenger safety now and in the future.
