Between five and ten percent of patients admitted to hospitals in developed countries acquire an infection during hospitalisation, such as surgical site infections and ventilator associated pneumonia. Together with DNV Healthcare & Biorisk, we are developing a framework for managing infection risk in healthcare settings.

The work draws on the expertise DNV has as the leader in biorisk management and our efforts to set standards for effective biorisk strategy. The framework is performance-based and places responsibility on organisations to demonstrate that appropriate risk reduction policies and procedures have been established and are implemented.
