The purpose of describing management development as a Journey is to illustrate the continuous development and the various challenges that you meet as a leader in DNV at different management levels.

The Journey starts with a "Survival Guide" for newly appointed, first-time managers. The information gathered in this e-learning module helps them get started immediately.

Port 1 Management Skills gives new managers a basic introduction to the main skills necessary to manage people and money in a unit. The skills are all build upon the actual business processes that the DNV Manager will meet during a year in DNV. Port 1 Management Insights focuses on building on experiences gained as a manager. The purpose is to increase the awareness of DNV Leadership Expectations, the business model and requirements, and the personal side of the manager role.

Port 2 also has two modules. The first module is called Port 2 Individual Development and focuses on increasing personal strengths as a manager based on systematic measurements and structured input. The second module is called Port 2 Global Business Leadership and is the business school approach, where business cases and classroom discussion together with project work are the main building blocks. Here we will focus on the strategic topics that are of particularly importance to DNV at any given point in time.

Port 3 focuses on the business area management teams and top management in DNV. Different strategic topics and approaches will be introduced based on priorities determined by the Executive Board and business area management teams.
