DNV Maritime has introduced a pilot project called Maritime Accelerated Surveyor Training (MAST), which is designed to get people without extensive practical experience up and running as quickly as possible.

The programme is created for future newbuilding surveyors in DNV Maritime. 30 newly hired employees, mainly form Asia, will take part in the six month, on-the-job training concept.

After three introductory weeks at Høvik, the training will continue at yards in Korea, China and Vietnam. The participants will have practical and theoretical training throughout the project in order to qualify as surveyors at the end of the training period.
