As a container industry professional DNV should be a well known leading classification society to you. You have a challenging job already, but you also look for opportunities to further develop your skills and competence. The container ship segment of shipping is important to DNV, and to further develop our services and to increase our market share we have set our ambitions for the future at a high level. We want to attract and establish a core team of the right persons who see the “big picture” with operational experience, technical competence, marketing and relations skills to achieve our goals.

DNV’s ambition is to play a more important role in the field of container ship classification. That means classing a larger part of the newbuilds and ships in operation. To achieve this, we need expertise within critical disciplines both technical, operational and business. We are often perceived as technically advanced, and we believe that a staff of well qualified people is a prerequisite to reaching our goals.
We are looking for candidates within the following disciplines:
- Environmental challenges and fuel saving
- Hullstructures
- Ship hydrodynamics
- Machinery and systems
- Operations, what is critical to make a management company function?
- Hazardous cargo
- Business development, new products and services beyond class
- Taking our class services to a higher level
- Container care and securing
- Fire safety
Our competence centres are located in Hamburg, Busan, Shanghai and Oslo and your work place may be in one of these locations. We will find a work location for you which is agreeable to both yourself and DNV.
Your background may be from a container ship owner or manager, ship yard or designer, a classification society, or perhaps you can surprise us with something quite different.
We would like you to help us in the application process by going through procedure in the link below. Please don’t forget to tell us how you can help us reach our goal.
Please apply by 7th October 2008. Register your application here.
