How can DNV assist in evaluating our ship's status of fulfilment of MLC 2006 requirements?
DNV has developed a gap analysis service which we will make available to our customers in support of their preparations for handling the Maritime Labour Convention. The services will take the customer through the requirements of the Convention and show where shipowners will have to have procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement (Cf. the Conventions A5.1.3 para 10 (b)).
DNV has competence in many areas relating to the MLC 2006 and we are prepared to make our resources and competence available to our customers.
One kind of service DNV can offer is due to Risk Evaluation and in general Health and safety protection and accident prevention (Cf. the Convention Regulation 4.3). DNV can either give courses in Risk Evaluation or facilitate the Risk Evaluation.
Other relevant competences are:
MLC 2006
Certification of crew manning agencies
Food and catering
Regulation of working and living conditions – International and national laws and regulations
