These codes and standards contain many common or interfacing requirements, and integration or combination of any of these systems and integrated certification will lead to a more efficient and effective way of managing safety, environmental issues and quality.

You may therefore choose to co-ordinate all or some of the relevant international codes and standards into one company based management system. We have experienced a large number of successfully integrated management systems within shipping companies, also with integrated system manuals. However, for Ship Security we recommend that the Ship Security Plan (SSP) is developed as a stand alone document. This makes it easier to protect it from unauthorised access, as required by the ISPS Code, and for use in a security situation.
