Why should I choose DNV to be my Recognised Organisation (RO)?

ISM services are, as a main rule, delivered through our local survey stations situated in more than 100 countries. This means that more than 300 ISM-qualified auditors are available to you - worldwide.

DNV is authorised by all major Flag Administrations that have decided to delegate some of their ISPS responsibilities to Recognised Organisations (ROs). Scope of certification may vary from full authorisation to shipboard audit only. See Flag State authorisation table for further details.

Safety and pollution prevention issues have been part of DNV’s general work scope for many years, and when the ISM Code was developed and adopted in 1998, DNV’s efforts were focused on this initiative.

DNV is acting RO for more than 3500 ships of various types and flags.

If DNV is also handling the ship’s ISPS certification, combined ISM/ISPS audits may be done to save time and money.
