May ISM and ISPS audits be done onboard on the same visit?

If DNV is handling both ISM and ISPS for your ship, time and money may be saved by doing combined audits for the two regimes. This would require a common time window either through harmonised certificates or intermediate/renewal being done in a common time window.

Time required onboard for a combined audit will depend upon factors like degree of preparations, availability of personnel, the ships general condition, findings during the audit etc., but it may require up to 25% less total time onboard. It is, however, important that the ship is staying in port long enough to enable a combined audit of required quality to take place.
