Triple-E has four rating levels - 4, 3, 2 and 1 (where 1 is the highest). For each of these levels, there are requirements within the areas of management, operation and design. To reach a specific rating level, all the requirements stated for this rating level and the levels below it have to be complied with.
A Triple-E rating is a verification of a ship's actual environmental performance, and each rating demonstrates a different level of environmental competence and pro-activeness for a vessel and company:

A detailed specification of all Triple-E requirements will be provided to clients entering the rating scheme. Triple-E requirements may be amended to emerging regulations.
