The Triple-E environmental and energy efficiency rating scheme for ships has been developed in close cooperation with the industry, to provide ship operators with a well-documented tool to improve organisational performance, identify ways to minimise the environmental impact and, ultimately, optimise the fuel consumption and thereby reduce cost.
Key benefits:
A Triple-E rating will further enable a ship operator to prove environmental responsibility and demonstrate energy efficient operations. This can be used in branding of the vessel and the company’s environmental performance.
It is anticipated that, in the future, vessels with a documented environmental performance will also qualify for incentive schemes and other related initiatives from ports and local administrations.
Triple-E is a voluntary environmental rating scheme for ships which provides a rating from 4 to 1, based on an independent verification of a ship’s environmental performance.
Triple-E is an easy tool to help shipowners and operators stay at the forefront with regard to emerging green shipping rules and regulations.
For each Triple-E rating level, there are requirements within the areas of management, operation and design.
