Competence Management aims to identify present and future competence needs, facilitate comprehensive communication between sea and shore regarding training, subsequently turning competence goals into business results.

Our Competence Management services cover:

  • Development of Customised Competence Standards for Crew – capturing knowledge, skills and behavioural competencies required to perform duties in shipping companies (rank or task based performance standards).
  • Compliance Facilitation – assistance to implement mandatory and voluntary requirements, customer’s needs, expectations and own defined business goals.
  • Competence Management Certification - verification that the shipping companies' competence management systems are in compliance with the DNV Standard for Certification No. 3.101 Competence Management Systems.
  • Competence Assessment of Individuals - assessment through theoretical tests and practical assignments using role-specific competence standards.
