This is a generic system for the certification of competence according to accepted Standards of Competence. This system ensures independence of certification in relation to education and examination has an open structure and aims to limit the risk factor for interested parties.

The generic system consists of a framework which consists of expertise, regulations, procedures and instructions in accordance with the Standard of Competence which is the subject of the certification.

Based on the generic system, a detailed competence scheme can be developed.The standard applies to certification schemes of a non-compulsory nature.
