We offer Type Approval to several electrical components, such as:

• Rotating electrical machines
• Transformers
• Switchgear and control gear
• Electrical bus trunk
• Semi-conductor converters
• Instruments for switchboards
• Terminal blocks

A DNV Type Approval Certificate will certify that the component / product complies with DNV Rules for Classification of Ships, High Speed & Light Craft and DNV’s Offshore Standards.

A DNV Product Certificate is not required for cables with valid DNV Type Approval Certificate.

For generators, motors and transformers rated below 300 kW a DNV Type Approval Certificate and a works certificate is accepted as an alternative to DNV Product Certificate.
