Manufacturing Survey Arrangement (MSA) is an approved arrangement in form of a document stating the roles of Det Norske Veritas and the Manufacturer in connection with Manufacturing Survey and certification for a specific range of materials.

The following MSA scheme will apply:

• The Manufacturer has a valid Approval of Manufacturer Certificate issued by DNV.
• The Manufacturer has a certified quality system covering the production process.
• The Manufacturer will carry out some or all inspections and test to DNV requirements without DNV representative present.
• DNV will carry out periodical audits and random inspections of the product and process and verify compliance with MSA.
• The Manufacturer will sign the material certificate and the certificate shall be endorsed by DNV to become valid.
• DNV may give a discount on the certification fee.

A Manufacturing Survey Arrangement has normally 4 years validity, but intermediate follow-up will take place.
