Systems for automatic start/stop of generator prime movers and automatic operation of breakers shall either be delivered with a DNV Product Certificate or be covered by a DNV Type Approval Certificate.

The certification process normally consists of:

• Plan approval.
• Visual inspection.
• Verification of performance according to functional requirements based on approved test programs.
• Verification of failure mode behaviour and verification of implementation software quality plan covering life cycle activities, if applicable.
