All generators and transformers rated above 100 kVA shall be delivered with DNV Product Certificates. For ratings between 100 kVA and 300 kVA type approval certificates and works certificate is accepted as an alternative to a DNV Product Certificate.

Certification is based on product survey, only. No documentation is to be submitted for approval.

Product survey

Generators

Survey of generators includes visual inspections and tests. Both type tests (prototype tests) and routine tests are required. Please refer to DNV rules Pt.4 Ch.8 Sec.5 C for details.

Transformers

Both type tests (TT) and routine tests (RT) are required. Please refer to Pt.4 Ch.8 Sec.6B.
