Consulting tasks related to control, monitoring, alarm and safety systems are sometimes carried out by personnel in the section for control systems when these tasks can be can be carried out independently, and entails no conflict with the classification services.

Support within the DNV organisation:
Support related to technical and procedural matter to other parts of the DNV organisation is part of the core services for section for control systems. Such support will typically consist of clarifications and conclusions of technical discussions, conducting training courses in e.g. certification systematics and survey of dynamic positioning systems, conducting and participation in experience exchange seminars, etc.
