“DNV PSC Tool Kit” is a collection of useful tools created by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) to support Masters and crew preparing for Port State Control (PSC) inspections and help reduce the risk of detentions, as well as make the ships safer.
The DNV PSC Tool Kit is intended to be a supplement to the vessel’s existing onboard Maintenance and Safety Management System.
The DNV PSC Tool Kit consists of:
A USB memory stick with a DNV developed software called “DNV PSC Wizard”
Dedicated areas to preserve blank and used checklists from the software
A user manual for the software showing how it can be customized
A handy booklet called “Port State Control – Top detention items”
A flowchart called “Master’s quick guide for PSC inspections”
A chapter with introduction to Port State Control, including overview over MOU’s
The latest information issued by DNV on Port State Control topics, including latest issue of “PSC Newsletters” and “DNV Update on Concentrated Inspection Campaigns”.
Awareness posters in A3 format showing “Good practice” and “Bad practice”
Information on courses and seminars arranged by DNV on PSC topics
Dedicated area to store previous PSC inspection and related rectification reports
Dedicated area to store ship specific information related to PSC or other useful PSC documents
