Features

Compliance with the Tanker for Liquefied Gas class notation ensures compliance with the IMO's International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk. It also includes compliance with relevant international interpretations and DNV requirements for such vessels. This ship type notation has specific hull, cargo and system related requirements for different types of liquefied gas carriers as follows:
LNG carriers, either of membrane type or with independent tanks suitable for the carriage of such cargoes with temperature of cargo down to -163 oC,
LPG/ Ethylene carriers with pressure vessel tanks designed for temperatures of down to -104 oC,
LPG carriers with either independent prismatic tanks for larger vessels or pressure vessel tanks for temperatures of down to -50 oC. Other specialized vessels to carry Liquefied Gases in Bulk.

Process

DNV Approval of drawings based on a class request, follow-up at shipyard by surveyor, and follow-up during the operational phase of the vessel.
