Ship type class notation for the carriage of chemicals in bulk.
To ensure compliance with requirements applicable to ships with integral tanks intended to carry liquid chemicals in bulk in accordance with the IMO’s International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships carrying Dangerous Chemicals in Bulk (IBC Code), or Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships carrying Dangerous Chemicals in Bulk (BCH Code), as applicable. This class notation is mandatory for vessels carrying such cargo.

This ship type class notation covers specific requirements as to hull strength, stability, piping systems, electrical installations, instrumentation and automation and fire protection as appropriate for carrying chemicals in bulk.
Approval is carried out at the responsible approval centre. The site survey is carried out at the building yard and its suppliers. A periodical survey is carried out on board the vessel.
The notation is assigned following survey reports verifying compliance with the DNV rules.
