Class notation for hatches designed for heavy cargo.

Purpose

Voluntary class notation for Hatch covers designed for cargo loads heavier than the standard design loads. To enable owners to purpose build the ship to a specified design cargo load according to the owner's needs and intended cargo.

Benefits

Benefits to the owners:

• the opportunity to purpose build the ship for a specified cargo trade

• the opportunity to load more and heavier cargo

• increased cargo flexibility

Features

This class notation denotes that the ship has been built with hatch covers designed for cargo loads that exceed the standard design loads.

The design cargo load in t/m² will be given for each individual cargo space in the Appendix to the Classification Certificate.

These requirements are in addition to the requirements of the ILLC.
