Class notation for Dynamic Positioning using a single dynamic positioning system, position reference back-up, and an independent joystick system back-up.

Purpose

The dynamic position system is regarded as the complete installation necessary for dynamically positioning of vessel, and includes a power system, thrusters, DP-control system and the independent joystick system. The class notation correlates to IMO equipment class 1 for vessels with Dynamic Positioning System.

Benefits

The notation ensures that the vessel has a system which is sufficient to meet class requirements and IMO guidelines for Dynamic Positioning systems. This notation enables the customer to offer services in operations requiring a Dynamic Positioning equipment class 1.
