Additional+notations

Ships found to satisfy relevant requirements may be given additional class notations related to special service and type of ship, special systems and equipment or to special features.

Ships arranged and or strengthened for a special service and found to be in accordance with relevant requirements in the 'DNV Rules for Classification of Ships' - Pt. 5, will be given a corresponding additional class.

Ships having special equipment or systems found to satisfy relevant requirements in the 'DNV Rules for Classification of Ships' - Pt. 6, will be given a corresponding additional class.

Special features notations provide information regarding special design assumptions, arrangements or equipment which are not covered by the main class requirements or the other additional class notations (see also 'DNV Rules for Classification of Ships' - 802).

  • Tanker for Oil ESP - Service and type notation
  • E0 - Equipment and systems notation
  • ETC - Special feature notation
