By accumulating results from a number of research projects and experience gained from energy efficiency studies, DNV has published a study that demonstrates the potential for cutting emissions from the world shipping fleet in the year 2030.

The study introduces reductions measures for both the existing fleet and new buildings in the years to come.

DNV believes that CO2 emissions by 2030 can be reduced by 30% below baseline in a cost effective way. This is demonstrated in the Marginal Abatement Cost Curves.
