Requirement Explorer™ - overview of new and amended IMO requirements

In 2008 DNV developed Requirement Explorer™, an online database which enables you to quickly gain an overview of new and amended IMO requirements according to your specific needs. Requirement Explorer contains short overviews, prepared by statutory specialists in DNV, of each requirement and amendment to major IMO codes and conventions from 2005 onwards.
You can conduct different types of searches in the database and the search results are presented in a table which enables you to print, filter and sort the overviews, and export the raw data and save the information.
Requirement Explorer therefore helps you quickly find relevant IMO requirements, and closely complements IMO Vega (the database which contains the regulation text of the SOLAS, MARPOL, Load Line conventions and other conventions, as well as mandatory codes such as ISM, ISPS, 2000 HSC Code, and IBC Code, amongst others).
Updating
Requirement Explorer is updated shortly after each IMO Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) meeting and Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) meeting. In this regard it is possible to readily keep up to date with new IMO requirements.
Printed publication replaced
Requirement Explorer replaces the printed DNV document “New IMO Requirements, present and future amendments, Information Note No.9”. But a similar file, named 'Compiled report of IMO Amendments from 2005', is being generated from the new tool and is available as a free download. You can also download the latest version of Information Note No. 9 (IMO Amendments 1952-2007) which contains all amendments from 1952 until 2007.
Availability
Requirement Explorer is available through DNV Exchange – an online service for DNV builders and suppliers, as well as managers, owners and flag authorities working with DNV. If you do not already have access to DNV Exchange, simply go to exchange.dnv.com to sign up and log in.
