The German shipping industry experiences enjoyable growth in all respects. The number of container ships owned or operated by German companies has increased considerably during recent years. Newbuildings financed in Germany are ordered all over the world. But also German shipyards and manufacturers of maritime equipment are well booked for the years to come.
DNV in Hamburg has certainly found its place in this dynamic environment. Well recognised for its quality services and through well perceived training and seminar activities, the market share of DNV-classed ships in Germany has grown up to 17 per cent measured in gross tonnage.
A remarkable result, considering the fact that the share was almost nil ten years ago.
We will continue to provide our best services to the market. Training and competence development is on top of the agenda – for our customers but also within DNV. Competence development includes knowledge about latest technology developments which we also presented at the SMM in Hamburg.
