During a cordial meeting followed by dinner, a number of issues of common interest were discussed with DNV’s top management. The newly appointed CEO of DNV, Henrik O. Madsen, was introduced to the Greek delegation.

The meeting followed a similar meeting between UGS and DNV hosted by UGS in Piraeus in February this year.
Early April this year, figures released by Lloyd’s Register – Fairplay as commissioned by the Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee in London, showed that DNV had the biggest increase of classed tonnage during the past year amongst Greek controlled ships.

The increase of 1.9 mill grt in tonnage is mainly attributed to Greek controlled newbuildings placed in 2005 and classed by DNV.
