To further its commitment to the German market, DNV has now established a German Technical Committee.

Speaking at the recent inaugural meeting in Hovik, Norway, DNV Maritime chief operating officer Tor E. Svensen stated that the committee has been established in recognition of the importance of Germany as a shipping centre and consists of 18 leading representatives of the German Shipping Industry.

"The initiative was taken by members of the German National Committee which was formed last year. It is hoped that this new body will further enhance our dialogue with the German Shipping Industry, which is fast becoming a significant market for DNV."

Prof. Dr. Ing. Stefan Krueger is acting as Chairman.
