DNV Petroleum Services (DNVPS) has launched a new quality assurance service for the marine fuel market, called FuelWise. It is an online fuel quality data service, which lets purchasers check the fuel quality from suppliers before they place their order

The service is designed to give customers greater confidence with their fuel purchases.
Managing director of DNVPS, Per Holmvang, explains: “The FuelWise service offers subscribers access to test results of the latest fuel deliveries from virtually any supplier in the world. This is live data, immediately available as soon as our fuel tests are completed. We believe using the system will reduce the risks in bunker purchasing, as the quality of fuel deliveries from suppliers can be checked before a purchase is made.”
Live data
As head of DNV Petroleum Services (DNVPS), Holmvang is leading the largest global fuel testing network in the world, with some 70 percent of the worldwide market for contracted fuel testing services.
“The FuelWise service uses the data available in the network, providing up to the minute information via the web to paying customers. It demonstrates the value of doing proper tests of all fuels, and gives customers a very good overview of the market and fuel quality,” says Holmvang.
Since its start-up in 1980, DNVPS has performed fuel quality analysis and consultancy on more than 800,000 bunker deliveries.
