The approval service, through the DNV Exchange webportal, enables clients to submit and receive approval documentation electronically free of charge.

The main benefits with eApproval for the client are:

  • Faster exchange of information means shorter design time.
  • Reduction of paper costs and mailing time to practically zero.
  • Easy access and overview of documentation. The client has continuous access to status of submitted drawings and may download the approved documentation from anywhere in the world immediately after the approval is finished.

Currently DNV has 17 eApproval projects active, covering 33 ships and three CMC projects. Clients that utilise the service upload drawings, calculations and accompanying letters on the DNV Exchange server.

When the approval process is concluded, DNV 'redlines' and stamps the technical documentation electronically in Nauticus Production System and uploads the approved documentation back to the client's user account on DNV Exchange. Before the client gets a username and password to access the eApproval service on DNV Exchange, an eApproval contract has to be signed.
