Following recent new EU requirements, Paris MOU officers have been given password-protected access to non-overdue conditions of DNV classed vessels.

Through EQUASIS, the public at large has access to class status and overdue surveys and condition of class leading to suspension or withdrawal of class. The extension of this to provide access to the non-overdue conditions and deficiencies in connection with statutory services is restricted to Paris MOU officers and to vessels scheduled for port state inspection. The use of the information will be closely monitored. Similar steps have been taken by all other IACS members.

The additional class information will help Port State officers avoid double work and to carry out their inspections better, faster and more efficiently.
