US Coast Guard (USCG) is using DNV to perform advanced ISM training of their auditors. The course covers ISM, Internal Audits and STCW-95 amendments, implementation and enforcement.

The course constitutes an integral part of USCGs three-week Advanced Marine Inspector Training, which is designed to qualify the officers responsible for marine inspections including Port State Control (PSC) and ISM/STCW enforcement.
The training provided by DNV aims at disseminating DNVs knowledge and experience as well as creating synergies with other stakeholders in the maritime industry, including owners, operators, Flag Administrations and PSC.
To have such an experienced class is very challenging but also rewarding, says DNVs head lecturer for the course Per-Arne Waloen. During discussions and group work sessions the participants contribute a lot with their own experience from shipboard inspections, enhancing the course interaction and benefits.
Mr. Waloen was assisted by Christos Aspiotis in the course.
