Piray biomass power expansion project |
The proposed project activity consists in the expansion of an existing power plant inside the Piray Industrial Complex site by adding a new 30 MW extracting / condensing turbogenerator unit. As a result, the expanded power plant increased its power generation capacity from 8.9 MW to of 38.9 MW (maximum). The project is designed so that approximately 60% of the new available power is destined to serve the needs of the Piray Industrial Complex, while the remaining 40% of the power is sold to EMSA, the local power distribution company in the Misiones province. |

León Landfill Gas to Energy Project |
The León Landfill Gas Combustion Project developed by Técnicas Medioambientales de México, S.A. de CV is a landfill gas (LFG) collection and utilisation project taking place at the La Reserva landfills at the city of León, Mexico,. The project will have an electricity component with an installed capacity between 1 and 2 MW. The objective of the Project is to collect and flare the LFG generated at the León landfill, this will involve investing in a highly efficient gas collection system, flaring equipment, and a modular electricity generation plant. The engines will combust the methane in the LFG to produce electricity for export to the regional grid. Excess LFG, and all gas collected during periods when electricity is not produced, will be flared. Emission reductions are estimated at 99.299 tonnes of CO2e / year over the lifetime of the Project. |

São Domingos II Hydroelectric Project |
The project proposed by Santa Cruz Power Corporation Usinas Hidroelétricas Ltda. consists of the installation of a small hydroelectric plant with a capacity of 24 MW, located on the São Domingos River, in the city of São Domingos, Goiás State, in the central region of Brazil.
The São Domingos II hydroelectric project has the objective to provide renewable electricity to the Brazilian interconnected electrical system. Particularly, the project will be connected to the S-SE-CW interconnected sub-system through the sub-station CELG (Centrais Elétricas de Goiás) with a transmission line of 69 kV. The electricity to be generated is already contracted to be sold to a pool of electricity distributors. The contract was formalized by a Purchase Power Agreement (PPA), and will be valid for 10 years from January 2009.

Tianxin Waste Heat Recovery Project |
The Tianxin Waste Heat Recovery Project is located at the plant site of Wuhai Tianxin Washed Coal Co., Ltd. The annual amount of coke produced at the site is 600,000 tonnes and the amount of waste heat is 4,485.07TJ. The proposed Project will use high temperature flue gas from the coke oven, and will install waste heat recovery boilers to generate electricity. The installation capacity of the proposed project is 2×12 MW, and the annual electricity supply is expected to be 142GWh with 6500h of generating time. The proposed project will recover and utilise waste heat contained in non-combustible waste gases, currently vented to the atmosphere. In the absence of the project activity this situation would continue. The proposed project will supply electricity for use by the coke plant, replacing electricity that would otherwise be supplied by the fossil-fuel dominated North China Power Grid. |

Energy efficiency improvement and the reduction of fossil fuels in copper production at LS-Nikko Copper Inc’s Smelter in Onsan, the Republic of Korea. |
This proposed CDM project activity consists of the replacement of an oil-fired drum drier by waste heat driven steam drier in a drying process of copper concentrate at LS-Nikko Copper Inc’s Smelter in Onsan, the Republic of Korea. The project aims at reducing GHG emissions by increasing energy efficiency of the drying process. Within the project current fossil fuel based heat source will be replaced by recovery and utilisation of waste heat. Additionally, the electricity intensity of the drying process will be lowered. Project is estimated to reduce oil consumption by about 55 GWhfuel per annum and electricity consumption by about 3 GWhelectricity per annum. The project will result in estimated GHG emission reduction of 16,959 tCO2e/year for the first crediting period of seven years |

Cogeneration project in sugar plant at Vizianagaram District |
The main purpose of the project activity is to utilize available mill generated bagasse effectively for generation of steam and electricity. The electricity generation from the plant is being used for in-house consumption and the surplus electricity is exported to the power deficit grid. The project meets the captive steam and power requirement of sugar unit, co-generation (cogeneration) plant auxiliaries and power requirement of the colony. The balance power is being sold to Power Trading Corporation of India through APTRANSCO Grid for additional revenue generation. |
